Project Architect / Project Designer with 5-10 years experience
The position is expected to be full time and salaried, in our Detroit studio with flexibility for hybrid work. Compensation is commensurate with experience. REQUIREMENTS
Other Work is a small studio with a strong focus on collaboration, and we look for team members who are committed to Architecture and Design as a form of advocacy, are not afraid to fail, and want to make a meaningful impact for Detroit. The candidate should be critical thinker who is highly motivated with the desire to self-manage, take risks, and balance a variety of projects and tasks. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and the ability to manage other team members are required. A thorough understanding of construction documents, putting together a construction document set for small projects, detailing, structure, building systems, zoning, and building code is expected. The candidate should have a professional or master’s degree in architecture and 5-10 years of experience. Architecture licensure is a plus. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, and Adobe Creative Suite are required. Design-build or fabrication experience is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
︎ Manage and lead the design of 2-3 projects at a time, including management of design teams, project schedules and budgets
︎ Assist with design, detailing, and drawing of other projects in the office
︎ Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout design
︎ Construction administration, including site visits, RFI’s, and submittal review

Architectural Designer with 1-5 years experience

The right candidate will be versatile, curious, and creative with the ability to diagram their process and contribute to our formal and social agendas. The candidate should be highly motivated with the desire to self-manage, ask questions, and balance a variety of projects and tasks. Candidates should have a degree in architecture or similar experience, and 2-5 years of professional experience is preferred. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, and Adobe Creative Suite are required. Design-build or fabrication experience is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
︎ Design, renderings, drawings, and documentation of 1-3 projects at a time
︎ Site visits, field measurements, and construction administration
︎ Participate in client presentations and consultant coordination throughout design phases
︎ Assist with other projects, marketing efforts, and office research and development projects
